Faculty Position in Organic or Bioorganic Chemistry

WSU invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in the Department of Chemistry in organic or bioorganic chemistry at the Assistant Professor Level at our main campus in Pullman WA.

The successful applicant will be expected to run a nationally and internationally recognized research program, teach organic chemistry courses at graduate and undergraduate levels and perform service duties for the department and for WSU. The anticipated start date is August 15th, 2015.

Required qualifications include: a PhD. in Chemistry or a closely related discipline before the start of employment. 12-months of postdoctoral experience or equivalent, evidence of potential for establishing and maintaining an outstanding academic research program in organic chemistry at WSU, ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses, and excellent spoken and written communication skills.

Clinical Position in General Chemistry

WSU invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the Clinical Assistant Professor Level or the Clinical Associate Professor Level at our main campus in Pullman WA.  This appointment is on a three-year (renewable) contract.

The successful applicant will be expected to teach general chemistry at the first year level, teach higher level courses by mutual agreement, participate in undergraduate curriculum development including laboratories, assist in the training and supervision of general chemistry teaching assistants, and perform service duties for the department and for WSU. The anticipated start date is August 15th, 2015.

Required qualifications include: a PhD. in Chemistry or a closely related discipline by the date of hire, evidence of a commitment to excellence in instruction including the use of innovative technologies and teaching methods, excellent spoken and written communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to work in a culturally diverse workplace.

Preference will be given to individuals with experience in teaching large (150+) lecture courses, experience in the development and assessment of curriculum , and/or experience in conducting research in the area of Chemical Education.
