Faculty Position in Physical Chemistry

WSU invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in physical chemistry at the Assistant Professor Level at our main campus in Pullman WA. The successful applicant will be expected to run a nationally and internationally recognized research program, teach at graduate and undergraduate levels and perform service duties for the Department and for WSU. The anticipated start date is August 15th, 2014.

Required qualifications include: a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related discipline before the start of employment, six-months of postdoctoral experience or equivalent, evidence of potential for establishing and maintaining an outstanding academic research program in physical chemistry at WSU, ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in physical and general chemistry (including service courses), and excellent spoken and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to individuals whose research interests are in Materials Chemistry and complement existing faculty research but exceptional candidates with research interest in other areas in modern physical chemistry will be considered. At least 18 months of postdoctoral experience or equivalent is preferred.

Faculty Position in Analytical Chemistry

WSU invites applications for a full-time (9 month) tenure track faculty position in analytical chemistry at the Assistant Professor rank at our main campus in Pullman, WA.

The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain a nationally and internationally recognized research program, to teach at the graduate and undergraduate level, and to perform service duties for the Department and for WSU. The anticipated start date is August 15th, 2014.

Required qualifications include: a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related discipline by date of hire, evidence of potential for establishing and maintaining an outstanding academic research program in any area of experimental analytical chemistry at WSU, ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in analytical and general chemistry (including service courses), and excellent spoken and written English communication skills.

Preferred qualifications: Candidates with interests that complement the interests of current faculty will be given preference. Candidates with a year or more of postdoctoral experience or equivalent are preferred.
