CHP Diagram of Laboratory

Purpose

Many of the worst laboratory accidents are made much worse because emergency equipment are not used or known about.  If properly trained, this section will ensure that students and employees have at least been shown where safety equipment is and is available.

You might consider using software to make a professional looking diagram, you can use chemdraw, powerpoint, or for the more adventurous their are inexpensive drafting programs like SketchUp to make an in depth diagram.

Required Sections

  • Any recognizable diagram of the rooms covered in the CHP including labeled locations of all safety equipment including;
    • fume hoods
    • all types of safety cabinets
    • exhaust equipment
    • fire extinguisher
    • bench tops
    • sinks
    • safety showers
    • eye washes
    • first aid kits
    • spill kits
    • fire alarms
    • any other devices
