CHP Responsibilities

Purpose

Part of the OSHA requirement of a CHP is naming the person responsible for developing and implementing a  chemical hygiene plan.   This page also lays out what rooms you want covered by this CHP.  Most people might choose to just have one CHP to cover their entire area, but others might chose to have separate ones for specific rooms, especially if one is used for a specific purpose and is much simpler than others and can cut down on safety training for working in an area.

Required Sections

  • Name of PI or supervisor responsible for the CHP
  • Area (rooms) covered for the specific CHP
  • Date of initial implementation
  • Dates the CHP is reviewed (required at least annually)
