Faculty Notice of Vacancy
The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at Washington State University (WSU) invites applications for two (2) permanent, full-time, nine-month academic tenure-track positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Department of Chemistry. The Department of Chemistry is committed to research excellence, rigorous classroom preparation, and mentorship of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and undergraduates by world-renowned faculty to produce fundamental scientific knowledge and understanding that impacts society. The Department performs research in the following broadly defined areas: Chemistry of Biological Systems and Health Science, Nuclear Science, Chemistry of Materials and Interfacial Science, and Chemistry of Energy and the Environment. All research areas include a strong presence in Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Radiochemistry. The Department’s research activities have essential applications in energy, contemporary technology, national security, human health, and other areas of national need. Applicants with research and teaching interests in any area of chemistry or closely related disciplines are encouraged to apply. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will begin the appointment on August 16, 2023.
Undergraduate Teaching Assistant and Stockroom Positions
The Department of Chemistry regularly hires undergraduate students as teaching assistants, stockroom attendants, and office assistants. Hourly pay ranges from $15.00 to $18.00 per hour depending on experience. Undergrads in good academic standing typically work up to 10 hours per week. Working in the department provides valuable job training and can be an excellent source of letters of recommendation. We are currently hiring for fall 2022.
