Installing MathCAD Prime v3.1

  1. Connect to Chem-jukebox.
  2. Navigate to the MathCAD folder.
  3. Copy the entire Prime3.1 directory to your desktop. Once installation is complete, you can delete this folder.
  4. When the download is complete, open the folder you saved to the desktop and launch the setup.exe application.
  5. Select Install new software, then click Next.
  6. Accept the license agreement.
  7. On the Application Selection screen, accept the defaults and click Install.
  8. MathCAD will begin to install. The icons to the right of each progress bar give options to Retry a failed install, or to get More Info on why a particular component failed to install. PTC Mathcad Viewable Support and PTC Diagnostic Tools may or may not install correctly depending on what other programs you have installed (ex., MathCAD v15). As far as we can tell, as long as PTC Mathcad Prime completes successfully, that’s enough to get up and running.
  9. When installation completes, click Finish.

Activating MathCAD Prime v3.1

  1. Open the Start Menu and run PTC Mathcad License Wizard.
  2. On the Welcome screen, select Configure product to use existing license, then click Next.
  3. On the Configure License screen:
    • Check the PTC Mathcad Prime 3.1 tick-box.
    • Select Server license configuration
    • Server: chem-diamond10.ad.wsu.edu/
    • Port: 7788
    • Click Configure License.
  4. If everything is successful, you will see the Done screen with a checked PTC Mathcad Prime 3.1 tick-box.
  5. Click Exit to complete installation.

Remember that you can now delete the folder you previously saved to your desktop in step 3.
