Printing in Chemistry

Graduate students, faculty, and staff should use lab/office printers or the Fulmer 305 printers. Troy 305 printing is specifically for undergrad use and reporting.

Larger print jobs should should always be done using the Large Duty printers in Fulmer 305 (See below).

Printers in Fulmer 305

The department provides two high-speed, high-capacity printers located in Fulmer 305. Printers in 305 are available for graduate students, faculty, and staff to use. You will need to install printer drivers to be able to print. When the printer driver is installed you will need to setup the hold print passcode for the printer.

There is one colored printer and one black and white printer. The colored printer is the smaller one (Canon iR DX5850i) and the larger printer (Ricoh 8300S) is black and white.

News

  • 5/11/2026 – The printer in Troy 305 has been permanently removed and will not be replaced due to abuse and budget cutbacks.
  • 10/15/2024 – The Fulmer 401 printer has failed and will not be replaced. Chemistry will be consolidating 401 resources into Troy 305 to focus on improving our best undergraduate space. Scheduled completion by Spring.
  • 3/29/2023 – The old Ricoh color printer (Gloria) is now off-lease, a new Canon copier has been selected as replacement and is now online in Fulmer 305!

Lab and Office Printers

Lab printers and personal office printers for faculty are not provided by FulmerIT. You will need to use your own funds to purchase any printers for your lab or office. That said, we highly encourage engaging with us to make brand and model recommendations for your specific use cases.
