As the head of the department WSU see’s the department chair as responsible for all employees, students, and visitors in department controlled areas.

In addition the chair is expected to review the control methods used by PI’s and lab instructors and ensure that required authorizations to use restricted or regulated hazardous chemicals are on file in the department.

Lastly, the chair reviews all accident reports and ensures appropriate corrections are made.
