PI and Faculty Safety Training

Department chair’s are expected to review the “control methods” PI’s and faculty use to keep their labs safe, and part of this is training.  Currently the department has no required training for PI’s and faculty except that required by the University which are outlined in the PI and Faculty Responsibilities.

The single largest part is developing and implementing a chemical hygiene plan (CHP) which meets WISHA regulations.  This includes ensuring your students and employees are properly trained to meet department standards and to safely work in your lab, and knowing and enforcing WSU SPPMs.
