Fetch the Driver
- Connect to Chem-jukebox.
- Navigate to the Ricoh 8300s Drivers > Mac.
- Open the Ricoh Driver text file.
- Copy the URL from the text file and paste into your web browser.
- Choose Mac OS X.
- If you don’t know which version of Mac OS you’re on, open System Preferences.
- The first line of the System Preferences window tells you which version of Mac OS you’re using. You will need this information for the next step.
- Choose the correct version of Mac OS for your system and Download the files.
- Open the downloaded file.
- Double-click the package Ricoh_PS_Printers_Vol5_EXP_LIO_Driver.pkg.
- A window will open to install the necessary set of drivers. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
- Close the window after installation is complete.
- Open System Settings and select Printers and Scanners.
- Click the + option in the lower left to add a printer.
- In the Add window, select IP to configure a network printer.
- In the Address field, enter diamond5.chem.wsu.edu.
- In the Use field, choose Select Software… from the drop-down menu.
- In the Printer Software window, search for Ricoh Pro 8300s and select the corresponding driver when it appears.
- In the Add window, click Add.
- Drivers are now installed on this device.
Setup “Pin Printing” and “Hold Prints”
- Open a document and select File > Print or press Command+P.
- Select Ricoh Pro 8300s from the Printer drop-down menu.
- Click Copies and Pages, then select Job Log from the drop-down menu. (This menu is located below the Presets field.
- Enter your name in the User ID field.
- Select Hold Print from the Job Type drop-down menu.
- Check the tickbox for Enable User Code.
- Enter the last four digits of your WSU ID in the User Code field.
- Select Save Current Settings as Preset… from the Presets drop-down menu.
- Save the settings with any name. Ensure that Only this printer is selected.
- Click Print to print to the Ricoh.
