MathCAD is available to all faculty and students in chemistry. It is available for Windows only.
We use a network license. Your PC must be connected to the Internet when you launch MathCAD.
You must connect to GlobalProtect VPN before launching MathCAD if off-campus.
We license MathCAD primarily for undergraduates taking physical chemistry courses. Consider MatLab as an alternative.

11/2024 — Mathcad v15 licensing has expired and no longer functions. As a result we have moved to MathCAD Prime v10. Temporary instructions are located on Chem-Jukebox next to the MathCAD installation directory.
06/21/2019 — Mathcad Express free lifetime licenses available! PTC is offering this version to anyone who wants it. It’s presented as, “…a lighter version of PTC Mathcad 5.0.” So it will have fewer features, but it’s free. You can sign up to get the download at PTC Mathcad. Please note that this is NOT the version typically used here on campus.
12/31/2015 — Mathcad Prime 3.1 has arrived! Unlike v14, Mathcad Prime 3.1 can be installed concurrently with v15 (but still not v14). See below for instructions on how to update your v15 or older worksheets to be compatible with Prime 3.1. Mathcad Prime 3.1 will only run on Windows 7 and newer.
NOTE: MathCAD v15 required for migrating Worksheets to Prime v3.1!
