Laboratory:


The Guo Labs are fully equipped with unique high-temperature calorimetry instruments, high-pressure apparatus, and a complete synthesis capability for material preparation.


Equipment:

High-Temperature Calorimeters:

Setaram AlexSYS-1000 Calvet-type calorimeter for solution and reaction calorimetry at 500 to 1000 °C

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Setaram SetSYS-2400 calorimeter for heats of reaction, heat capacity measurement, thermogravimetry and thermal mechanical analysis from RT to 1500 °C (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) and to 2400 °C (Differential Thermal Analysis)

 

 

 


 

High-Pressure Apparatus:

 

 

 

Diamond Anvil Cells (pressure: < 50 GPa)

Hydrothermal DAC (P-T: <10 GPa, <800 ˚C)


 

Mechanical Measurements Apparatus:

ACE RUS008 Resonant Ultrasound Spectrometer for determining elastic properties

 

 

 


 

Material Synthesis and Characterization:

High temperature Nabertherm tube furnace (1300 °C, inert gas condition)

High temperature Carbolite furnace (1200 °C)
