Facilities & Resources

From a 1MW research reactor and X-ray crystallography instrumentation to a high-performance computing cluster, faculty and students in the WSU Department of Chemistry have access to state-of-the-art instrumentation to support complex research initiatives.

In addition to a wide range of instrumentation available within individual research laboratories, Washington State University facilities include:

Radiochemistry

The radiochemistry program at Washington State University has laboratory facilities in Fulmer Hall and at the Nuclear Science Center (NSC). In Fulmer, radiotracer experiments can be carried out, and at the NSC we have the capability of doing macroscale experiments with actinides. Counting equipment is available at both locations.

Interdisciplinary investigations

Our researchers are frequent collaborators with colleagues in a wide variety of disciplines. Beyond instrumentation and laboratories within the department, our chemistry faculty and students have access to a wide variety of resources across the Washington State University system.

Work with Pacific Northwest National Laboratories

Washington State University and the United States Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory have combined their scientific, research, and academic acumen to build and strengthen relationships that will drive innovation and help sustain the globe.
