Research Opportunities

CHEM 495/499: Directed Research

In addition to developing your basic research skills, you will need to seek out opportunities to become involved in faculty research, which can lead to independent research on topic of your choosing.

  • Listen carefully when faculty talk about their research in class—or better yet, ask them about it!
  • Attend a seminar or presentation by an expert in your area of interest, or attend a lecture on a topic new to you (it might resonate with you more than expected).

CHEM 495 and 499 may be repeated for credit.
