Printing to the Ricoh 8300S (B&W)

  1. Navigate to Jukebox on  chem-jukebox.
  2. Open the Ricoh 8300s Drivers folder.
  3. Open the Mac folder, then open the Ricoh Driver text file.
  4. Copy the link from inside the text file into your browser.
    Scroll down and choose “Mac” from the operating systems.
  5. If you don’t know which version of Mac OS you’re on, open System Preferences.
  6. The first line of the System Preferences window tells you which version of Mac OS you’re using. You will need this information for the next step.
  7. Choose the correct version of Mac OS for your system and Download the files.
  8. Open the file you downloaded.
  9. Double-click the package of drivers.
  10. This window will install the necessary set of drivers. Click Continue/Yes/Install etc. all the way through this dialog.
  11. When this request appears, enter the username and password for your computer.
  12. Close the window once it’s finished installing.
  13. Open “System Settings” And select “Printers and Scanners.”

  14. Select the “+” option under the printer list to add a printer.

  15. In the top-left corner select “IP” to configure a network printer.

  16. Enter “diamond5.chem.wsu.edu” into the “Address” bar

  17. In the “Use:” dropdown menu, choose “Select Software…”

  18. Start typing “RICOH Pro 8300S” into the search bar and select the corresponding driver when it appears.

  19. Click “Add” and the 8300 should be added to your list of printers.

For both printers in 305 you MUST setup both “PIN Printing” and “Hold Prints” for your documents to reach the printer.

  1. Open a document and select print from file or press “Command+P” in the print menu click “Copies and Pages” to bring out a drop down menu. On this menu select “Job Log.”

  2. In the menu shown below, enter your name for “User ID”, select “Hold Print” for job type, give the file a name that it will show up as on the printer, and enable user code and enter the last four digits of your WSU ID# for the “User Code”
  3. In the “Presets” drop-down menu, select, “Save Current Settings as Preset”.

  4. Save the settings with any name, making sure that, “Only this printer” is checked.
